Our Forum Rules and Regulation
Welcome to PinoyObscura.com the new alternative site for Pinoy photo hobbyist Worldwide. The forum is open to all photography topics and discussion, point and shoot, Film or DSLR photographers are welcome. These Guidelines are made in order to have a lively, peaceful and organized community. The Admins and Moderators will STRICKLY implement this Rules and Regulation and will enforced its duties to edit, move, delete. lock. close, ban and warn threads or member who disobeyed this rule.
1. PinoyObscura is a Filipino (Pinoy) discussion forum about Film and digital photography, photos sharing, photography techniques, gears and everything which concerns Photography in general
1.1. Please keep personal discussions elsewhere. Let’s talk photography here please. If its not photography related we don’t really care to hear about it. We created a shout box for all the other chitchat and greetings. Keep it there and please don’t take this into the main forum.
1.2. Shoutbox are for registered member only. No trading, advertising, no profanity and vulgar words please.
2. The form of communication shall be in Tagalog or English or both (Taglish).So if you’re comfortable using English as your medium of communication in this forum you may do so but as much as possible please use Tagalog since this is a Pinoy forum.
3. Only Real First and Last names is allowed. Admin will not validate any registration if you are using aliases.
3.1. Avatars: As much as we want for every member to use their own Photo as an avatar we also allowed the use of other images of which the member thinks best represent his/her personality (cartoon characters, superhero images, text etc.). Avatar should b3 85x85 in size and should not contain any offensive images.
4. Every member is allowed to put in signatures.
Signature bearing the following will have to be edited.
-Those bearing graphics images of any kind.
-Those bearing offfensive sentence and phrase particularly meant to as an insult to other member in the forum.
5. No insults or personal attacks against any members of the forum. If you are insulted, do not retaliate but instead report it to the Admin.
Need I say more? We’ve seen our share of attacks in other forum and what’s even more irritating than the personal attacks are the other members who try to add more wood to the fire.
6. No blatant advertising, spam, or solicitation is allowed unless approved by the Admin. You cannot use this site to promote and sell personal services. Posts that are not approved by us will be deleted. This doesn’t mean that we will not post services here. It’s just that you need to get approval before you do so and if we deem it a good service to the community then we will post it. Some members think putting something up for sale under their “signature” is not selling. In our eyes it is and we will delete the signature without having to inform the member.
7. Message content must correspond with the content guidelines outlined in each forums description.
For the sake of good order, start a new thread rather than shift the topic of an existing thread. No Hijacking of thread.
8. We encourage everyone to post comment as much as you want even if it’s just to increase your number of post but PLEASE! comment with “sense”. Anyway the number of post on this forum has no direct relation to the experience of a member.
We consider all posting to be for sharing only we are doing this to encourage member to post with confidence but that doesn't mean that you will not learn from this forum, we provided a thread for those member who wanted to have a technical comments on the images. Member who wishes to have their images to be C&C's but not posted on the proper thread will be moved by the admin.
There is a dedicated thread for Critiques and comments so all photos that you want to be C&C just post it there.
8.1. Off topic post, Thread hi-jacking: All topics are ope for discussion but be polite, show courtesy and respect to what others have to say. Using words like "IMHO", " I suggest", " I guess" and other diplomatic and well-mannered words are encourage at all times. Sometimes members do geet carried away in the course of the discussion and may already derail the topic tacled on the thread. So thats why we encourage members to take their off-topic discussion off the thread and do it privately or create a sepate thread.
9. PinoyObscura reserves the right to modify, move, delete, backup, and present it in other form, all posts in the Forums without prior notice to the members.We will not entertain any comment whenever we delete any thread that the Admin found to foul or offensive to a person or to the group. We delete simply because we feel a post or thread is out of line. Question if you like, but we don’t need to justify our decision.
10. No trolling or flame wars. Members attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. Any posts containing such will be deleted and the member warned.
We’ll end it up quickly by deleting posts and banning members.
